An unidentified passerby extinguished a car fire in Conway Saturday night.
Hillgrove dispatch called Digby fire, police and ambulances to the intersection in front of Superstore 6:47 p.m.
Eyewitnesses said a man “came out of nowhere” and extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher.
They said the small red two-door Cavalier was heading towards Digby and turning left into the Superstore drive-way when there was a collision with a Dodge Durango headed out of town.
The impact drove the Cavalier into streetlight pole where it caught fire.
The Digby fire department sprayed foam onto the engine to cool it off and stop it smoking.
Traffic was blocked off on the street for less than half an hour.
The driver of the Cavalier was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
