Keith's players off to All Star game
West and Central divisions face off in Tatamagouche Sunday
Four Valley Keith's players have been selected to play in the Junior C All-Star Game.
Captain Mike Dauphinee, Chris Whitmore, Andrew Verran, Devon Bezanson and Tyler Robertson will suit up in Tatamagouche on Sunday, Jan. 13.
The Valley boys will skate for the Western division against the best players of the Central division.
This will be the first Junior C All Star Game in Nova Scotia since 2003.
The day begins with a 10 a.m. breakfast at the North Shore Recreation Center. That will be followed by a skills competition, and the actual game starting at 2 p.m.
The Central division and West division have selected teams to showcase some of the best players in the league. The game will consist of 3 20-minute periods, with overtime and a shootout if needed. Each team will have 18 skaters and three goaltenders.
The press release accompanying the all-star announcement says the game is a must see for all hockey fans.
"Junior C hockey in Nova Scotia is a growing and highly under-rated league that provides some of the fastest, skilled junior hockey you will see. Whether you are familiar with the league or not, this will be a great chance to see the skill level we are lucky to have playing for us."
Full team rosters will be announced later this week.
