Close call in Bishopville
There was a close call for a Bishopville family when they awoke Monday morning to find their house full of smoke.

Hantsport firefighters received the call at 12:35a.m. to 2463 Bishopville Road for a reported house fire. Upon arrival, fire had extended from the basement area through the walls into the first floor living space.

There was extensive smoke, water and structural damage to the home, which is insured. Damage is estimated in the $50,000 range. There were two individuals living in the home at the time of the fire.

Mutual aid was summoned from Wolfville, Windsor and Brooklyn fire departments and firefighters were on the scene for approximately two hours.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire. The cause was determined to be accidental in nature.
