Drug charges laid following search of Tusket residence
Two people have been arrested on drug charges and possession of illegal cigarettes after the RCMP executed a search warrant at a Tusket residence on Tuesday.

The RCMP say the Dec. 4 search resulted in the seizure of marijuana, cash, cigarettes, a firearm, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Marcel Clayton LeBlanc, 39, and Tina Helen LeBlanc, 38, of Tusket, have both been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of illegal cigarettes, failure to comply with an undertaking and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Both appeared in provincial court in Barrington on Thursday for a show cause hearing. Marcel LeBlanc was released under strict conditions, while Tina LeBlanc has been remanded into custody.

Both are slated to appear in provincial court in Yarmouth on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
