The Caledonia Visitor Information Centre Committee is sponsoring The North Queens Country Christmas House Tour 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 in Caledonia and surrounding areas The new owners of the Whitman Inn, built in 1912 in Kempt, will serve tea and refreshments during the tour.
North Queens house tour offers plenty
The North Queens Country Christmas House Tour 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 in Caledonia and surrounding areas offers the old and the new in addition to refreshments and plenty of opportunities to enjoy local talent and hospitality.
Tickets are $10 per person and include touring new homes as well as homesteads in the area, the museum, a quilt show and sale at the United Church, and an opportunity to meet the new owners of the Whitman Inn where refreshments will be served throughout the day. Local church and community members made the quilts.
Also included in the tour are the Caledonia United Church and the Heritage House Museum, which was built in the 1850s. Tour-goers will have an opportunity to go back in time with homemade decorations, popcorn, cranberries, and other fare and sights.
Also included are the homes of Mya and Jamie Uhlman of Caledonia, Dwight and Louise Fancy of North Brookfield, and Ron and Suzanne Frail of Hibernia.
Tickets will be sold at each of the eight locations designated in the brochure for the Decorated Wreaths on display there.
Advance tickets may be purchased at the Keji Craft Sale on Dec. 1 in Caledonia or at the Valley Credit Union in Caledonia. On Tour Day they will be available at the North Queens Heritage House Museum in Caledonia.
