Cleanup continues following pre-winter snowstorm
A pre-winter snowstorm described by some forecasters as a “Colorado Low” swept across the Valley Monday, Dec. 3 into Tuesday, Dec. 4. Environment Canada had issued a snowfall warning for Annapolis, Kings and Hants counties on Sunday and most areas saw 15 to 25 cm of the white stuff by Tuesday morning. Schools under the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board in Annapolis, Kings and West Hants were closed Tuesday. Crews were out in full force cleaning up the soggy, heavy snow and lots of people got their exercise digging out their driveways and vehicles. A group of children in Kentville said they weren’t disappointed that classes were cancelled. They took the opportunity to do some sledding at Burgher Hill.
