Kiwanis Concert dedicated to Maddie Keay
The Annual Kiwanis Community Christmas Concert Dec. 2 is being dedicated to Maddie Keay, who performed at the concert for many years and will always be remembered for her dedication to music, youth and the community in general. Kiwanis Concert dedicated to Maddie Keay
The holiday season in Queens County gets underway in the traditional fashion with the 76th Annual Kiwanis Community Concert Dec. 2 at the Astor Theatre.
This year the concert is being dedicated to the memory of Maddie Keay who performed at the concert for many years.

The entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with music by the Mersey Band, and the concert will get underway at 7 p.m.

This year’s program features one choir from Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy comprised of about 80 young voices from Grades 4-6.

Also performing will be the father and son team of Dick and Rick Henneberry in addition to Brent Raddall, John and Joel Orme, and Gavin Raddall, all students of Pamela Rogers. The Geritones Quartet, Sandy Bottom Boys and Queens County Girls Choir are also featured.

New performers this year are Alexis Rowter, Breah Himmelman, The Treble Makers - all students of Yvette Henneberry - The Triple Trio, which was formed in 1972 at Liverpool Regional High School and who performed at the High School Reunion this past summer, and the Privateer Brass.

Ticket prices remain at $6 for adults, $4 for students and again this year, tickets are being sold through the Astor Theatre box office at 354-5250 or www.astortheatre.ns.ca Please bring non-perishable items for the local Food Bank as well.

All proceeds of the event are returned to the community through the Kiwanis Club’s programs for children.
