Merry pleads not guilty for alleged face crushing incident
Trial scheduled for April
A 19-year-old Harmony, Queens County man pleaded not guilty Nov. 27 in Liverpool Provincial Court to assault causing bodily harm for allegedly using a rock to crush the face of a 17-year-old girl.
Coby Merry has been charged with assault and uttering threats for incidents on Sept. 21 and for assault causing bodily harm for the Sept. 22 incident on the Queens County Exhibition Fair grounds in Caledonia.
The then 17-year-old Molega Mines female, who is now 18, required facial reconstructive surgery.
Her cheek bones were broken in seven places, her eye socket was broken, her sinus cavity collapsed and her jaw had to be realigned.
Two days – April 15 and April 22 – have been set aside for Merry’s trial.
