Canada’s Snider settling in for Auburn evening
The St. Mary's Concert Series committee has arranged for folksinger Bob Snider to give a concert Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the church in Auburn.
Snider is one of Canada’s most celebrated performers. Born and raised in Toronto, he has spent several years as a resident of the Bear River area.
He has released seven albums, most recently Stealin’ Home (2002) and A Maze in Greys (2007). Snider tours widely and has appeared at shows and festivals across North America.
Gaspereau Press has just published a second Bob Snider book. This time, the popular singer/ songwriter looks at getting up on stage. He has a strong belief in the relationship between audience and performer: the trust, control and generosity that fosters unity among audience members and the importance of genuine connection between audience and performer.
“I’ve always wanted to get my two cents in about performing,” Snider says. “There are as many ways to write a song as there are people. But, there is only one way to perform - and this (book), I believe, is it.”
He will also be in Kentville Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 for the annual Gaspereau Press Wayzgoose
