Woods Harbour multi-trail balloons over budget
Businesses who have submitted tenders for the construction of the Woods Harbour trail are being asked to hold their bids until the issue of $114,000 in unforeseen costs has been dealt with at the next Barrington Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, Oct. 1.
Realignment of power poles, and the addition of asphalt curbs, concrete culverts, and retaining walls were not included in the original estimate.
The total amount available in funding is $679,000.
The 2.8-kilometer multi-use trail is supposed to start near the Woods Harbour Fire Department along Highway 3 to Station Road, up that road to the CN railbed, then from Cemetery Road back to Highway 3.
