Staff, students, stakeholders applaud new playground

Staff, students and local stakeholders were on hand last week to open and dedicate a new playground at New Minas Elementary School.

The previous structure was vandalized by fire over a year ago and, since then, a number of local businesses, organizations and individuals have worked hard to raise over $80,000 to refurbish the facility.

The following video profiles children enjoying the new equipment, principal Eric Trahan and vice principal Ron Walker getting in on the act with a quick slide, and a corn boil/community celebration to mark the playground's official opening.
