WATER RESCUE

Engine 4, Units 26 and 27 responded to the Main Shore Road near Sandford to transport three adults across a body of water to the highway. The rescue alive sled was placed in service for the first time; the procedure carried out without a mishap and very quickly. The page was sounded at 10:27 p.m.

BOWLING MEETING

The firefighters’ bowling league will meet at the Brunswick Lanes this Tuesday, 7 p.m. to set up the schedule for the coming season.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

REMEMBERING FALLEN FIRREFIGHTERS

Firefighters throughout Canada will remember and have paid their respects to those firefighters who have paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Yarmouth members who will be remembered by many of us are, career firefighter Brownie Newell and volunteers Hank Smith and Joe Thibeau.

AC ADAPTERS RECALLED

AC adapters sold with network hard drives are being recalled by 1-0 Data Device USA due to burn hazard. These adapters can overheat or melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers. Model number is 10-acadp151oul and can be found on the adapter. The model number for the network hard disk drive is UHDL-1604 or UHDL3000 and can be found on a label at the base of the console. Manufactured in Japan they sell for between $300 and $400.

1892 HOLLOWAY HORSE-DRAWN CHEMICAL ENGINE

Used by the city of Halifax. The brass/copper tanks are large soda/acid extinguishers, one being charged while the other was in use. This type was often used as "first in" engine until the steamer arrived at the fire.

Sept 11, 1973 Reliance #3 and a tanker were dispatched to Hebron, near Minard's Bakery, to stand by as an overturned transport truck, which had struck two cars was up righted onto the highway.
