JumpStart Funding
Canadian Tire JumpStart is a community-based charitable program from the Canadian Tire Foundations for families that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreational activities.
Deadline to apply for assistance is Sept. 21, 2007. Application forms can be picked up at the West Hants Recreation Department, 76 Morrison Drive, Windsor/West Hants Industrial Park. Or call 798-6938 and we can mail one to you.
Kidsport Program
Kidsport is a national children’s program that helps disadvantaged kids overcome the barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. Kidsport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment. The Pathways for People Recreation Nova Scotia conference is being held at the Digby Pines Resort Oct.17–20, 2007. The conference is designed to encourage delegates to exchange ideas, stir up dialogue and debate and explore what can be done to advance the Active Transportation movement in Nova Scotia. The goal is to empower Nova Scotians of all ages and abilities to adopt healthier lives through recreation and physical activity. For more information visit
