WVMHA calling players, coaches

It is that time of year again: the Western Valley Minor Hockey Association is gearing up for another hockey season.

Check westernvalleymha.com often for updates and information. Our annual Atom, Peewee, Bantam AA and AAA; and our female Peewee, Bantam and Midget team tryouts will begin September 15 at the Kingston arena.

The set up will be different than previous years: tryouts will be held during the week, as well as on the weekends. All participants are guaranteed a minimum of four 75-minute ice times.

There will be a goalie evaluation session September 19, 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., for all goaltenders attending tryouts. The session will be split, with the youngest age group on first. Goalies will still attend the regular tryouts for the team they are trying out for.

WV will also be hosting a Midget AA team; however, this team will begin ice times in October.

The WVMHA is also desperate for volunteers, but would settle to have someone step up to take on the development co-ordinator and head coach positions. For more information, email WVMHA president Tom Gorman, president@westernvalleymha.com.
