Drowning in Hibernia
RCMP divers located the body of a 17-year-old male about 10 a.m. Aug. 18 after an extensive all-night search in Hibernia for the missing youth.
Queens RCMP first received a call about the possible drowning at the Hibernia Lake Campground near Caledonia at about 9:45 a.m. Aug. 17. The investigation, according to a press release, revealed the youth had been swimming in the lake after dark with friends when he disappeared.

Emergency personnel and volunteers were involved in the search. Queens RCMP also stated they would like to thank North Queens County Ground Search And Rescue personnel and other volunteers for their assistance, “during this tragic occurrence.”

As of Aug. 18, the name of the victim had not been released.
