Valuable off-ice training for junior hockey hopefuls
A pair of Kings County hockey players - goalie Kirk Rafuse of Kentville, a 2007 draft pick of the QMJHL Lewiston Maineacs, and Trevor (T.J.) Boyd of Greenwich, who plans to try out for the Truro Junior A Bearcats this fall - are receiving some valuable sport-specific off-ice training from Larry Vidito, a Kentville resident formerly affiliated with the National Hockey Academy in Calgary. Rafuse and Boyd have been training an hour a day, three days a week at the Kentville soccer fields. In this video, they first do a powerball drill, then an intense 45-second 'read and react' drill where one partner performs an activity and the other has to match it.
