Safety was the main concern for a senior lost from Windsor and found in Halifax July 25.

James Taylor, 79, was reported missing and last seen hitchhiking on Highway 101 near Exit 5A eastbound toward Halifax on the morning of July 24. Windsor District RCMP requested the public’s assistance in locating the elderly man, who was suffering from dementia. Efforts proved successful as Taylor was returned safely the next evening to his residence at Victoria Park Guest Home in Windsor.

Someone called the Halifax Regional Police knowing Taylor was lost and he was bused back to Windsor, said Windsor RCMP Community Liaison Officer George Cameron. “He was in good health considering the heat that day. It was a positive outcome.”

Taylor didn’t suffer any injuries and police would like to acknowledge the public for helping with this matter.
