The Yarmouth rural RCMP detachment is investing a two-motor vehicle collision that happened Thursday around the supper hour on Highway 3 by the airport.
The collision forced the closure of the airport stretch for a while until the damaged vehicles were removed. Motorists were being turned away by the RCMP.
Several emergency vehicles – police, firetrucks and ambulances – responded to the scene.
Const. Mathews McGraw said a car with two passengers was pulling out of the parking lot at Winner's World when it was hit by an oncoming vehicle travelling towards Yarmouth.
"The occupants in the little car that was leaving the store parking lot were both injured with non-life threatening injuries," he said. Const. McGraw said it was mostly property damage and no changes would be laid.
The investigation into the matter continues and Const. McGraw said increasing fog in the area at the time of the accident probably played a factor.
