Improperly tagged lobster traps have cost a Shelburne County man $20-thousand.
37-year old Douglas Wayne Nickerson of Southside, Cape Sable Island was charged the large sum in Barrington Provincial Court last Thursday after pleading guilty to fishing for lobster with traps that did not have valid tags.

He was charged after Fishery Officers conducted an investigation after receiving a complaint.

It was discovered he was fishing without the proper tags between May 1, 2004 and Dec 23, 2005.
