The Municipality of Yarmouth held a ceremony last Thursday evening in Arcadia to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge.
The event included a prayer by Rev. A.D. (Bill) Newell, the laying of wreaths and the lighting of candles, which were laid at the base of the Arcadia war monument at the ceremony’s conclusion.

Participants included members of the Royal Canadian Legion and students from the Memorial Club.

Warden Bryan Smith spoke on behalf of the Municipality of Yarmouth.

Those on hand for the ceremony were invited to stay afterwards for a reception at the Arcadia hall.
