Bursary chance

Museum exhibit

April 28 The Apple Valley Flyers radio control model airplane club will be holding a display and demonstration of model aircraft at the Greenwood Mall on Saturday April 18. Singspiration concert

April 29 Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. there will be a Singspiration concert at the Kingston United Baptist Church, featuring music from various church choirs, quartets, duets, instrumentals, etc. All proceeds from a free-will offering will be donated to Kingswood Camp. Fellowship time and refreshments will follow. Everyone welcome.

Hymn Sing

April 29 A hymn sing, featuring Ida Videto and Gloria Gallant, will be held at the Inglisville Baptist Church on April 29 at 2 p.m.

Funds for Fuel

April 30 Funds for Fuel bridge party, Monday, April 30, 1:15 p.m. at Macdonald Museum in Middleton. Cost is $3 per person. Come out for a fun afternoon and support the museum. Call the museum at 825-6116 for details.

Slow pitch meeting

Cemetery maintenance

May 1 The North Kingston Cemetery spring-fall maintenance days will be on Tuesday this year and will start on May 1 at 9 a.m. weather permitting. Bring gloves, rakes, clippers etc.

Clements Garden Club

May 2 At there meeting on Wednesday, May 2, Mary Ritchie from Thexton's Greenhouses of Lequille, will be demonstrating how to prepare containers and hanging baskets. Guests and new members welcome at club meetings held in Foresters Hall, Clementsvale at 7.30 p.m. Social time with refreshments will close an interesting evening.

Mike Parker to speak

May 3 Clements Historical Society hosts author Michael Parker who will speak at the Clementsport Community Hall, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. Parker was a resident of Bear River, and the slide show and discussion will be about hunting and trapping in the area in the early years. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Silent auction

May 3 Silent Auction & Dessert Night at the West Kings District High School. Runs from 7:00 to 9:00. Join us for excellent desserts, music and auction items.

May 5 Flea Market at the Middleton Train Station Museum from 8am to 2pm.

Spring Tea and Sale

May 5 The Parish in Deep Brook will hold a Spring Tea and Sale May 5 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Bake, book, craft, white elephant tables. Proceeds for Anglican Church Women, Parish of Clements.

Variety show

May 5 Variety Show at the Clarence Community Hall at 7 p.m. Featuring “Valley Grass” and Doug & Pat LeBlanc. Adnission is $5. 50/50 draw. Proceeds for painting the Hall.

Vocal recital

May 5 Mezzo soprano Amy McKenna of Lawrencetown will give a vocal recital at St. John’s United Church, Middleton. In collaboration with pianist Maureen MacLean, Amy will present works by Purcell, Bach, Schumann, Faure, Copland and Rodgers & Hammerstein. Rectial begins at 7 p.m. with a reception to follow. Free will offering with proceeds being donated towards Rely for Life and Family and Children Services of Annapolis County.

Chinese auction

May 5 A 2 p.m. Chinese auction will be held Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Macdonald Museum. Call 825-6116 for details.

Golf shareholders meeting

May 6 Eden Golf & Counry Club’s annual spring shareholder’s meeting starts at 2:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse.

Spring celebration

May 6 “Of Birds and Bees” - a Spring Celebration featuring A Royal Consort under the direction of Carolyn Bosley. Starts at 2 p.m. in St. Luke’s Church, Annapolis Royal. Tickets are $7.00 and may be purchased from choir members or at the door.

Salvation Army auction

May 6 The Salvation Army Bridgetown Community Church, 16 Rink Street, will be having an auction on Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Some items include ping pong table, piano, household items and games. Money raised will be used to fix the church roof.

Spring concert

May 6 A Spring Concert to be held at the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church from 3 to 4 p.m. Will included secular and sacred music to stir your heart. More info to follow. All welcome. No scent policy.

Seniors' party

May 7 Seniors' Party at the Bridgetown Baptist Church, Monday, May 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. All seniors in Bridgetown and the surrounding area are welcome to attend an afternoon of music, chatter and refreshments. See you there, and it's free!

Plant medicine talk

May 9 Annapolis Field Natualists Society presents Mi'kmaq Plant Medicines, a talk by Laurie Lacey on the the plant medicines of the Mi'kmaq of Atlantic Canada. Meet in the library of the Annapolis West Education Centre, 7:30 p.m.

Best of Broadway...The Sequel

May 11-12 Middleton Choral Society, directed by Maureen MacLean, presents an evening of music from Broadway shows at Annapolis East Elementary School, 7:30 pm, tickets $5 for all.

Turkey Supper
