Genealogy department closed
April 20
The Admiral Digby Museum and Genealogy Department will be closed Friday, April 20. The museum apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
Breakfast
April 21
A firemen’s breakfast will be held April 21 from 7:30–10:00 a.m. at the Smith’s Cove Fire Hall/Community Centre. Proceeds to the Fire Department.
Hockey banquet
April 22
The Digby Area Minor Hockey year-end banquet will be held Sunday April 22. Parents and players can pick their tickets up at Digby Area Recreation or call Cindy O’Neil at 245-1949.
An Inconvenient Truth showing
April 25
A viewing of former Vice-President Al Gore’s campaign to expose the myths and misconceptions surrounding global warming and raise public awareness on the subject. The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. as part of Earth Day celebrations on Wednesday, April 25 at the Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library.
Breakfast

A goodwill breakfast will be held April 28 from 7:30–9 a.m. at the Free Masons Hall, located at the corner of King and Mount Streets (across from the Digby High School). Everyone welcome.
Potluck supper and auction
April 28
An Arbor Day spring potluck supper and Chinese auction will be held April 28 at 5 p.m. at the Digby Neck Consolidated School. Free will offering. Proceeds for playground equipment. For information or to donate items call 834-6600.
Concert
April 29
An evening concert presenting the Shepherds Joy Singers will be held April 29 at 7 p.m. They will also be singing at the 11 a.m. morning worship. Concert will be held at the Digby Baptist Church. Free will offering. Reception will follow the evening performance.
Lunch
April 29
A spaghetti lunch will be held April 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holy Cross Parish Hall in Plympton.

Tuesdays
Cards will be held every Tuesday evening at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bear River Branch #22 at 7 p.m.
Quilt display
During April
A Think Pink Quilt Display will be held at the Digby branch of the Western Counties Regional Library during April. Sewn together by Louise Chisholm and quilted by Linda Elliot, with assistance from Cassidy Harris, 9, these six quilts are on display during open hours. The quilts are for sale with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Scallop Palette Gallery: New works by local artists from mid April until mid June at the Digby General Hospital.

Quarry meeting
May 3
Bilcon of Nova Scotia will be holding a quarry update meeting on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Digby Regional High School in the theatre.
Battle of Atlantic dinner
May 4
The Cornwallis Military Museum, Battle of the Atlantic Commemorative Dinner will be held May 4, doors open at 6:15 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. Held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Clementsport. Ticket purchases in advance. For more information call 638-3351.
Yard Sale
May 5
A yard sale will be held at Digby Area Arena on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 245-1950 to book a table ($5/table).

Battle of the Atlantic events
A Battle of the Atlantic dinner will be held Friday May 4, 6:15 p.m. at the Clementsport Legion. Tickets are $20 and available from Goug Moore at 638-8700 or Karl White at 638-3351.
A Battle of Atlantic Memorial Ceremony will be held Sunday May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cornwallis Military Museum. This event is open to all who wish to attend.
