EASTER SUPPER/SALE

April 11

An Easter supper and sale will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at the Holy Trinity parish hall on William Street. Sale 3-5 p.m. (books, white elephant table, fancy work and baked goods). Supper 5-7 p.m.


MEETING

April 12

The Argyle Municipality Historical and Genealogical Society will be holding a general meeting on April 12 at the Carleton Consolidated School in Carleton. A presentation on the Millar and Gordon clothes pin factory in Carleton will be made by Alex Cunningham. Alex is an 11-year-old grade 5 student at Carleton Consolidated School.

FAMILY HISTORY WORKSHOP

April 12

A free family history workshop “getting started,” a genealogy workshop with Wilfred Allen will take place at 396 Pleasant St., Yarmouth on April 12 at 7 p.m.

CONCERT

April 13

The Ernst Family Singers in concert at Beacon United Church on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $10, children under 12 free. For more information call 742-1074. Proceeds in support of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation.

OPEN HOUSE

April 14

The Yarmouth County Museum, 22 Collins St. has a new look inside, and museum officials are inviting everyone to an open house on Saturday, April 14, 2: - 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Free admission for the month of April is sponsored by C&C Flooring who installed the new carpet in the main exhibit area. For further information, call 742-2722.

VARIETY SHOW

Seniors Kickin’ Country is hosting a fun day variety show with skits, singing, dancing and jokes at Beacon Church on Beacon Street in Yarmouth. 2-4 and 7-9. Proceeds to fund on-going projects. Donations at the door. Door prizes.

The Ostomy Support Group meeting, opened to ostomates, their families and the general public, will be held Tuesday, April 17, at the Yarmouth Hospital in the Ruth and Irving Pink Conference Room at 7:30 p.m. Guest Speaker: Dr. Ed Janke, district chief of staff. Topic: Surgical aspect of ostomies.



ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS

The Tusket River Environmental Protection Association and The Tusket River chapter of Trout Unlimited Canada will hold their annual general meetings at the Lake Vaughn Fire Hall on Wednesday, April 18: 6:30 light refreshments, 7 p.m. TREPA meeting; guest speaker Kermit DeGooyer, followed by Trout Unlimited Canada meeting.

A meeting and pot luck lunch - Nova Scotia Government Retired Employees Association, Region 10, April 19, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Yarmouth. Pot luck luncheon at 11:30 a.m., followed by meeting at 1 p.m. Guest speaker will be RCMP Const. Mark Connell. Members are welcome to bring a guest.

A gospel concert and bake auction will be held at the Deerfield fire hall on Saturday, April 21 starting at 6:30 p.m. The funds from this evening help send area children to summer camp.

KITE FLYING

A turkey supper will be held at the Carleton Legion, Branch 167 on Saturday, April 28, starting at 4:30. There will also be a bake table. Sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.

Big Brothers Big Sisters TV auction will be held on Sunday May 27 on Eastlink, Channel 5. This is a new time for the auction as it was previously held in April.
