March 25, 2007 to March 31, 2007 continued STEADMAN, Franklyn Clyde “Bud” – 71, of Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, NS, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at home. Born in Upper Granville, NS, he was a son of the late Clyde and Violet (Gregory) Steadman. “Bud” felt his greatest achievement in life was his family, whom he was very proud of and loved dearly. He is survived by his wife the former Patricia Batson; daughters, Mona (Jeff) Fiske, Lawrencetown/New Minas; Christine (George Hutt), Kingston, NS; son, Ronald (Nadine), Coldbrook, NS, sister, Viola Higginbotham, Lawrencetown; brothers, Orland (Marian) and Robert (Joan), both of Lawrencetown; grandchildren, Keegan, Charlsea, Noah, Molly; step grandson, Josh and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Joyce Naugler; Laura Illsley and brothers, Earl and David. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no visitation. March 25, 2007 to March 31, 2007 continued Redden, Ervin Alvin – age 73, of Dill Road, Hants County, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2007, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on April 30, 1933, in Martock, Hants County, he was the son of the late Havelock and Ethel (Woodman) Redden. He was a member of Royal Canadian Air Force & the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 009, for a number of years. After leaving the military, Ervin pursued a career in construction work and residential building. He was employed with Swinamer & Eldridge, B.D. Stevens, Stevens & Fiske, Clayton Developments, Maritime Drywall and also Park Construction. Following that, he ran his own business, E.A. Redden Woodworking, for a number of years. Ervin enjoyed life to the fullest including all sports, fishing, gardening and especially his Montreal Canadiens. In the summertime you would see him on his tractor everyday. Ervin was a loving family member to all his children, grandchildren and his devoted wife of 53 years, Irene. Ervin is survived by his wife, the former Irene (Culleton); daughter, Patti (Peter) Seaward, Dartmouth; his sons, Gregory (Linda) Redden, Windsor; Darby (Glenda) Redden, Windsor; six grandchildren: Ryan and Gillian Seaward; Laura and Jamie Redden; Sarah and Evan Redden; his adopted sister, Sylvia (Ken) Pemberton, Medicine Hat, Alberta. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Dennis and Steven Redden; his brothers, George and Clarence Redden. There was no visitation or funeral service by family request. A private family committal was held at the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. The Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. March 25, 2007 to March 31, 2007 continued STODDART, Clariece Rosamond, 76, Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Lower Clark’s Harbour, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in the Villa. Born in Lower Clark’s Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Hiram and Laura (Smith) Stoddart. She is survived by son, Clyde, Lower Clark’s Harbour; brothers, Gordon (Burnette), Austin (Shirley), Lower Clark’s Harbour. She was predeceased by son, George; brothers, Randall, Leland, Winston, Oral; sister, Dale. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lower Clark’s Harbour, Rev. Robie Atkinson officiating.
