Wildlife Association assumes very active role
To the Editor:

I am writing this letter regarding the article in your paper recently about the Fish Friends program. Members of this association expressed concern that Kings County Wildlife Association (KCWA) was not mentioned in this article.

KCWA has been involved in this program for some time and in 2006 purchased a " Chiller " for the Canning school at a cost of $1,300. This is only one of seven such aquariums that this association has purchased or assisted in purchasing for schools within the County.

We also assist in distributing the trout eggs in the winter and monitoring the program. The teachers who supervise this program in the schools are a very valuable component of this effort also and it would not be possible without their participation.

The teachers that volunteer their time to supervise this program have indicated that this is one of the few extracurricular activities that the students remember long after graduating and it has proven to be a very popular program with students and teachers alike.

KCWA is an active wildlife conservation group in the county; we are familiar with most wildlife issues and offer to provide any information you may require for future articles in this regard. Please contact Marshall Jones- President, or Scott Cook - Secretary.
