February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 CALDWELL, Brian James - 34, Windsor Forks, Hants Co., passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 25, 2007, as the result of a skidoo accident. Born in Halifax on August 17, 1972, he was a son of Daphne Wells, Three Mile Plains, and Bruce Caldwell, Three Mile Plains. Brian was employed at Minas Basin Pulp and Paper. He enjoyed snowmobiling and working on Toyota trucks. Brian was a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Carr, and their children, Alisha, Patrick and Hannah, all at home; brother, Todd (Krista MacDonald), Newport Station; sister, Tina (Wade) Lavers, Three Mile Plains; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Peggy and Raymond James Lantz; paternal grandparents, Marie and Harold Caldwell; uncle, Fred Caldwell. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Rev. February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 WESTFIELD, Maude Catherine – 75, of Wilmot, NS, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Weymouth, NS, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel (Tibbetts) Melanson. She worked for Sears Canada in Halifax for several years before moving to the Annapolis Valley where she was manager of the Farmer’s ice cream stand in Wilmot until she retired to spend more time with her family and on the things she loved; crafts, gardening, bird watching and playing cards with friends. She was very involved in the All Saints Anglican Church in Kingston and a member of the Anglican Church Women. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Kevin) Allison, Windsor, ON; sons, Richard (Helen), Musquash, NB; Tim (Gisele), Dieppe, NB; sisters, Katherine (Kay) Duran, Weymouth, NS; Dorothy (Dot) Morrell, Brighton, NS; Eva Doucette, Digby NS; brother, Joseph (Marge) Melanson, Weymouth, NS; grandchildren; Kirk, Jonathon; Sarah, Adam, Jessica, Samuel, Ashley and Matthew. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick); sister, Ella Boudreau and brother, Bill Melanson. The family would like to thank the medical staffs of the Neurological Floor at the Moncton City Hospital, and the Family Medicine Floor of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Visitation was held Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, Middleton, NS (902) 825-3448. February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 Bullerwell, Joseph Dale (Joe) - 51, of Surrey, BC, passed away on February 26, 2007 in Surrey, BC, with his niece Kathryn at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1955 in Yarmouth, NS and lived the last 30 years on the west coast. He was the eldest son of of the late Joseph Franklin Bullerwell and Lena Evelyn (Harris) Bullerwell. Joe worked as a pressman for Transcontinental Printing since 1990. He loved nature and enjoyed riding his Harley. Joe also liked to collect coins and dollar notes. His door was always open to relatives or friends that made their way out West. Surviving are his son Joseph David, Surrey, BC; girlfriend Donna Carey and her son Ryan, Surrey, BC; brothers Randy, Halifax, NS, John (Pat), Brooklyn, NS, Mike (Becky), South Ohio, NS; sisters Elizabeth LeForte, Sackville, NS, Regena Doucette, Yarmouth, NS, Jacqueline (Dave) Colquhoun, Canaan, NS; five nieces and six nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister Sherri-Leah in infancy. Cremation has taken place and there was a service on Saturday, Mach 3, 2007 at the Avalon Surrey Funeral Home in Surrey, BC. A memorial will take lace in Yarmouth, NS at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 ALLEN (Eldridge) (Nickerson), Olive M. - Tidal View Manor, formerly of 67 Vancouver St., Yarmouth, passed away February 26, 2007, in Tidal View Manor. She was a daughter of the late T. Reginald and Jessie V. (Nickerson) Nickerson. She was born on February 27, 1918, in Salem, Yarmouth Co., where she grew up. Halifax was her home for a number of years before returning to Yarmouth, where she married and raised her family. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was predeceased by her first husband, J. Earle Eldridge; second husband, Maynard Allen; brothers, James T., Keith, and Reginald Jr. (in infancy); sisters, Helen R. Eldridge, Frances, Joyce M. Angell, and Jean E. Glennie. She is survived by son, Patrick E. (Susan) Eldridge, Yarmouth; daughter, Wendy L. (David) Roy, Timberlea; stepdaughter, Gloria A. Rodney, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Jake Eldridge, Chester Basin; Kimberly Roy, Timberlea; Jonathan Rodney, Yarmouth; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held in May. Burial will take place at that time in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 d'ENTREMONT, Craig Alvin - 48, Middle West Pubnico, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2007, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Yarmouth on August 11, 1958, he was a son of Joan and Jules d'Entremont, Lower West Pubnico. Left to mourn are Nicole; daughter, Martine, and son, Renaud, all at home. Also mourning are his common-law wife, Claudine and her sons Roland and Robert, and loyal companion, C.C. He is survived by his brother, Vaughn, Campobello, N.B.; "The Sisters", Charlene (Roland) LeBlanc, Lower West Pubnico, and April (Terry) Cunningham, Middle East Pubnico. He also leaves behind brother-in-law, Maurice (Suzette) d'Eon, Middle West Pubnico; niece, Ashley; nephews, Jesse, Emile, Jules, Tristan, Sylvain, and Lucien. He was predeceased by grandparents, Delima and Eve d'Entremont, John and Ida Rodgerson. Along with Maurice, Craig nurtured Martine Marie Fisheries and Camille d'Eon Boatbuilding Limited. He was a brilliant businessman. Craig always had a project on the go; his mind was constantly racing with new ideas. Craig was a passionate person. He worked with passion. He loved, lived, laughed and danced with passion. All the hearts he touched and all the hands he shook will forever remember him, not only for the things he said, but for the way he made us all feel. A celebration of Craig's life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, in Saint Peter's Church, Middle West Pubnico. Cremation has taken place and the interment of ashes was in the parish cemetery beside his much loved Grandmère Delima. February 25, 2007 to March 3, 2007 James "Jim" Archibald Tracey - 70, of Berwick, Kings Co. passed away Wednesday, February, 28, 2007 in the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Windsor, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Archibald and Sadie (Sanford) Tracey. Jim was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years. He was also a member of the Berwick Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 and an avid golfer and member of Berwick Heights Golf Club. He is survived by daughters: Deborah (Martin) Suter, Winter Springs, Fla; Tammy Tracey (Luc Lanoue) Ashton, Ont. and Shelley (Dennis) Beaulieu, Ottawa, Ont; grandchildren: James “Roark”, John “Riley”, Megan Leanne and Melanie Alison; long time companion, Sandy Perry; a brother, William "Bill" (Idellia), Waterville; sisters: Barbara Bishop, New Minas; Irene Spicer, Truro; Patricia "Pat" Emmerson, Aylmer, Ont.; Kay Gillespie, Collingwood, Ont.; Sandy’s family: Shannon (David) Simpson, Windermere; Shelly (Tim) Strong, Grafton; and their children: Brennan and Karlie Simpson; Tamara and Taylor Strong. Born in Aylesford, he was a son of the late John and Edna (DeEll) Morton. Glen was a woodsman and a farm hand all of his life and was very well known in his community. Surviving are brothers, Cecil Morton, Farmington, New Hampshire; Earl Morton, Aylesford Mountain; Wilfred Morton, Toronto, Ontario; Lindsay Morton, Port Lorne; Lewis Morton, Aylesford Mountain; sisters, Muriel (George) Sherriff, Okatoks, Alberta; Linda (Ernie) White, Kingston; Mabel Johnson, New Minas; Janet Rhoddy, Penticton, British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Vernon “Vernie” Morton in infancy; Charles Morton. There was visitation for Glen on Monday, March 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the H.C. She is survived by seven daughters, Joan (Eugene) Ross, Winnipeg; Gloria (Cameron) Brothers, Calgary; Dolly Upshaw, Halifax; Barbara (Aaron) Whynder, North Preston; Maxine States, Gibson Woods; Betty States, Kentville; Pauline (William) Clements, Gibson Woods; three sons, Delancey, Gibson Woods; Bayfield (Marilyn), Kentville; Clifford, Gibson Woods; a sister, Hilda Burgess, Kentville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Coulter States; two sons, Robert and Ronald; four sisters, Annie, Effie, Georgie and Daisy; four brothers, Arch, Vern, Aubrey and Walter. Visitation was held from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007. Pastor Theresa Character and Pastor Stephen Gough officiatied. Burial took place in the Gibson Woods Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Gibson Woods Baptist Church or the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses – Home Care.
