Appreciation for editor’s efforts
Letter to the Annapolis County Spectator
Dear Editor:
We, the committee for the benefit for Kevin and Michele Height, want to extend to you and the paper our heartfelt appreciation for the human-interest article, which did so very, very much to make the need known. We want you to know that the response to the musical benefit, which we held in Nictaux, was beyond our wildest dreams, and the generosity of the people, likewise, helped to heighten our appreciation of all the folks around us who are willing to make sacrifices to help others in need.
Too often the media is focused on sensationalism, and what shocks and overwhelms us, which serves to lead us to be suspicious of others and look at the worst in society. We should give thanks, in our small piece of this large county of ours, that we have a publication and a caring editor who desires to present some of the positive aspects of our society and help make life a little easier for some who may be undergoing difficult circumstances which are beyond their control.
Once again Larry, please accept our humble thanks for a job well done. May we all learn from these life experiences, that there are a lot of “good people” around us in our daily lives that are givers and not all takers.
Sincerely,
Loris and Vernon Connell
