Creating A Floral Arrangement With Children
Are you looking for a fun and easy craft project that includes fresh flowers that you can enjoy with your children? Here are a few simple ideas that the whole family can enjoy.

Materials:

• Colored foam

• Craft knife

• Glass cylinder container

• Water

• Scotch broom

• Foam ball

• Floral picks

Flowers:

• Bells of Ireland

• Miniature carnations

• Moss

You will want to begin by cutting your colored foam into various shapes. Next, place the foam in different colored layers into the glass container. It's always fun to the let the children decide what different colors of foam they would like to use.

Add water to the container. At this point, you may want to decide what color flowers you are going to use. It's always nice to try to coordinate your flower colors with your foam colors.

Now it's time to add the flowers to your vase. First, you will want to use some of the Bells of Ireland. You will want to use the floral parts of the bells as well as add in a few of the stems. In order to create further interest and appeal to your arrangement, insert a couple of pieces of scotch broom. Next, place the foam it on several floral picks and cover the backside of it with moss.

Now it's time for the miniature carnations. You will want to cluster the miniature carnations together and then cover the front side of the foam ball with them. This foam ball will now serve as a cover that you will place on top of the foam in the vase in order to hide all of the stems and picks that are going down into the vase.

This is a great project that your children will love. If you choose to use silk flowers, it can also be a great keepsake for years to come.
