Support for our troops, sending thanks
Letter to the Yarmouth Vanguard
The Memorial Club would like to thank everyone who has helped with our Guardian Angel and Wounded Soldier projects.

We would also like to announce that we will be sending our Guardian Angels off to Afghanistan with the next deployment of soldiers on their tour, with some of those troops being from Yarmouth. The Memorial Club would also like to thank our contact in the Canadian Forces Base Petawawa, (MCpl) Master Corporal Jeff Rainie, who is also a wounded soldier, of The Royal Canadian Regiment for assisting us with the opportunity of sending our packages off with the next battle group before they leave. That way they will have their Guardian Angels with them when they leave Canada.

We also have a contact in Afghanistan, MCpl Derek Lewis who, after months of recouperation from his wounds, has returned to active service with his comrades in Afghanistan.

We urge all our citizens to pray for our troops and keep them in their thoughts. The Memorial Club will never stop honouring and thanking them. As long as we have the support of our community, we will continue to serve and honour our veterans and Armed Forces.
