November 5 to November 11, 2006 continued WEIR, Ivan Cornelius - 82, Centre Rawdon, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5, 2006, in the Windsor Elms Senior Citizens Home, where he had been a resident. Born on July 26, 1924 in Rawdon, he was the son of the late Bertrum and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Page) Weir. Ivan was a devoted member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, where he was a Warden and a member of the vestry for 50 years. Ivan was a farmer and carpenter just prior to his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of music, dancing, the woods, animals and jokes of any kind. Ivan is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, the former Helen Grant; sons, Wayne (Carolyn), Rawdon; Donald (Heather), Falmouth; daughter, Janet Shay (Garth Dunbar), Hantsport; grandchildren, Joseph (Sonia) Weir, Mitchell Weir, Coady Shay, Jared Shay, Bonny (Ricky) Boutilier, Danielle Weir; great-grandchildren, Haley Boutilier and Cole Boutilier; sister, Dianne Maxwell; many nieces and nephews. Ivan was predeceased by brothers, Russell (Laura), Harry (Irma); sisters, Freda (Arthur) Benedict and Verna Anthony. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors Tuesday, November 7 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon, Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiated. Interment was held in St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ivan may be made to Windsor Elms Senior Citizens Home or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon. November 5 to November 11, 2006 continued Ada Harriett Graves - 86, Berwick, Kings Co. formerly of Aylesford, Kings Co. passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Ellen (Tufts) Coleman. Ada was employed in a number of occupations before her marriage. She and her husband owned and operated a large mixed farming operation in Victoria Harbour and Burlington for many years prior to their retirement and move to Aylesford. Ada took great pride in her role as mother, grandmother and mentor to many other young people in their community. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Bedford Graves, Fundy Villa, Berwick; son, Terry (Yvonne) Graves, Weston, Kings Co.; daughter, Nadean (Gary Jones) Graves, West Halls Harbour, Kings Co.; sister, Mary Coleman, Berwick; sister-in-law, Gladys (Fred) Coleman, Bridgetown, Annapolis Co.; granddaughters, Nicole Graves, Aylesford; Marcy Graves, Peggys Cove, Halifax Co.; a large number of nieces and nephews; many other close relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Robert “Bob�?, Charles, John & Frank Coleman, sisters, Elsie Kinsman; Molly Hall; Jennie Faulkenham. There was no visitation. Funeral service for Ada was held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick (902-538-9900). Rev. Donald Hirtle officiated. Burial was in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. November 5 to November 11, 2006 continued Dorothy Blanche Dickie - of Kentville, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2006 with family members by her side. Born in Dartmouth in 1908, Dorothy was the 2nd youngest daughter of the late Stanley and Phoebe Misner. For the past 30 years, she has lived with her loving daughter and son-in-law in Kentville. Dorothy always looked forward, and enjoyed many trips to St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. She is survived by her only daughter, Carole (Ty) Henley, Kentville; her three grandchildren, Stephen (Lisa) Henley, Newfoundland; Janice (Mike) Strickland, New Minas; Michael (Jane) Henley, Halifax; seven great-grandchildren who she loved very dearly. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Gerald "Gormey" Dickie. There was be no visitation by family request. A private family graveside service took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, Reverend Robert Billings officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.

November 5 to November 11, 2006 continued Faylene Hamilton Tremblay - The death of Faylene Tremblay, of Fredericton, N.B. occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton, N.B. on Nov 10, 2006. Born in St. Stephen N.B., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Hamilton and Helen (Bartlett) Craig. Survived by her husband, Richard Tremblay, daughter Roxanne Weaver; grandchildren Mark Haley Jr. and Jesse Urquart. Rested at MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, with visiting for family and close friends Monday from 7 to 9 pm. A graveside service was held at the Oak Bay Cemetery at 1 pm on Tuesday Nov 14, with Rev. Tom Ward officiating. For those who wish, donations to make donations to Kidney Foundation of Canada. November 5 to November 11, 2006 continued MACDONALD, Edith Aileen, 84, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point, Shelburne County. Born in Shelburne, she was a daughter of the late Ennis and Mary (Cluney) Oickle. Edith was a devoted aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She attended Church on a regular basis when her health permitted. She loved playing the guitar in her earlier years. She was an avid lover of all pets. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as close friends, Leona and Marie. She was predeceased by her husband, Bertram; brothers, George, John and Burns; sisters, Elizabeth, Marguerite, Nellie and Eva. A private family graveside service was held on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 in Pine Grove Cemetery with Pastor Ed Otis officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
