October 15 to October 21, 2006 continued Davis, Lottie Mae - age 91, of Windsor, formerly of Belmont, Hants County, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006, in the Windsor Elms Senior Citizens Residence, Windsor. Born on June 11, 1915, in Belmont, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie (Benedict) Benedict. Lottie was a longtime member of the Newport United Church, Brooklyn; the U.C.W., and a lifelong resident of Belmont. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Graham) Etter, Brooklyn, Hants County; Kathleen (James) Druchet, White Rock, BC; son, Ronald (Laurie) Davis, Bedford; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a great great-granddaughter; sisters, Dorothy (Clarence) Smith, Windsor; Muriel (Owen) Moore, Mt. Denson; Gladys (Douglas) MacBurnie, Falmouth; brothers, Lewis Benedict, Windsor; Gordon Benedict, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Munro Davis; a son, Reid in infancy; daughter, Rita Flemming; sisters, Winnifred Benedict and Marion (Lloyd) Lowe. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Shelley Pick officiated. Interment was in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Hants County. October 15 to October 21, 2006 continued John D. “Jack� Darrach 1921 – 2006. - The death occurred at the home of his daughter, in Culloden, N.S., on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, of John D. “Jack� Darrach, of Culloden, N.S., and formerly of Borden-Carleton, aged 85 years. Veteran of World War 11. Born in Charlottetown, he was the son of the late Neil and Blanche (Boswell) Darrach. Survived by his loving children Linda (Avard) Daley, Culloden, N.S.; David (Joanne), Travellers Rest; Donald (Leanne), Calgary, AB; grandchildren Jonathan Daley (Christine), Borden-Carleton; Chris (Diane) Darrach, Moncton, N.B. Steven (Sherri-Lee) Darrach, Summerside; Leith (Jessica) Darrach, Australia; Andy (Karen) Darrach, Calgary; great grandchildren Devon, Cole, Matt, C.J.,Dakota, Katlyn, Brooke, Alysha, Sonya, Thomas and Ashley; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Norma (Howatt) Darrach; brothers Eldon and Preston Darrach; sisters Verna Darrach, Ethel Edwards, Helen Waddell and Tisey MacDonald. A private family funeral was held October 23 at Moase Funeral Home. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 10, Borden-Carleton, will hold a service of remembrance, at the funeral home, on Sunday at 6:45 p.m. On November 5 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. a reception to celebrate the life of John “Jack� will be held at Avard & Linda Daley’s home at 1863 Culloden Road, Culloden, Digby Co., N.S. www.moase.ca
October 15 to October 21, 2006 continued GAY, Rita Mary – 88, Plympton, Digby Co., died Oct. 19, in Digby General Hospital. Funeral was held in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Marshalltown, Digby Co. Interment in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Marshalltown.
October 15 to October 21, 2006 continued SUNDERLAND, Vincent David – 54, Moncton, died Oct. 20. Funeral held in St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton. Son, Jeff, is a resident of Digby.
October 15 to October 21, 2006 continued Charles Ernest Clattenburg passed away suddenly at Ste. Anne’s Veterans Hospital on Saturday, October 21, 2006. Loving father of Linda (Brian Pulsford), Carol (John LeBlanc), and Pat (Andrew McIntyre). He also leaves to mourn ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Thursday, October 26, at Feron’s Funeral Home, Montreal. Interment in Field of Honor, Pointe Claire, Quebec.
