After losing the opener, there was no looking back for the Barrington Barons, who cruised to a 5-1 record to win the fourth annual Glen Murray hockey tournament in Bridgewater on the weekend.
Eight teams competed in two divisions during the four-day tourney (Oct. 26 to 29).

Liverpool edged the Barons 5-4 in the opener. Shannon Smith posted two goals for the Barons, with one each from Dwight Crowell and Sherman Crowell.

The Barons came back with a 6-1 win over Pictou. Smith notched a hat trick, with singles from Jamie Thomas, Shayne Devine and Dwight Crowell.

In game three, Barrington defeated Northumberland High 5-4 for a first place finish in their division. Adam Kenney had two goals for the Barons, with singles from Sherman Crowell, Brandon Newell and Andy Swim.

In semi-final action, Barrington shutout Bridgetown 3-0 advancing to the final. Joe Symonds had the shutout. Shannon Smith posted two goals, with one from Dwight Crowell.

In the championship game, the Barons down Yarmouth 6-1 for the banner. Adam Kenney notched a hat trick, with singles from Dwight Crowell, Shannon Smith and Shayne Devine.

Shannon Smith was named Tournament MVP and all star forward. Also named to the tourney all- star team were goalie Joe Symonds and defenseman Jack O’Connor.
