Forget the dog ban; implement a ban on loud car stereos
Letter to the Yarmouth Vanguard
I strongly believe it is time for Yarmouth Town Council to implement a ban on loud car stereos. I hear so many people complain about the loud bass of these stereos but nothing gets done about it.

The police need to pull over drivers who are playing loud stereo and fine them. One morning at 3:30 a.m., a car went by my place and the stereo was so loud the window vibrated and I could feel the vibrations in my bed. A three strikes and you're out policy needs to be in place.

This means that if you are stopped by police three times for playing a loud stereo, then you have your licence suspended. This would, I hope, eliminate the problem. I believe that excessively loud car stereos are more of a problem than walking your dog. I would like to see the police stop drivers who are blasting their stereos, bothering the residents of Yarmouth. Drivers should turn down their stereos and bass and stop bothering the residents of Yarmouth who enjoy peaceful surroundings.

In closing, I would like to see police fine people who are blasting their stereos as they would make thousands upon thousands of dollars from Main Street alone.
