Hemeon undisputed pumpkin queen
Teresa Hemeon is the undisputed pumpkin queen for Shelburne County this year, win-ning both the Clark’s Harbour and Shelburne weigh-offs.
Both events were held on Oct. 7, with 15 entries in Shelburne, and 21 in Clark’s Harbour.
Hemeon’s pumpkin weighed in at 699 pounds in Clark’s Harbour and 703 pounds in Shelburne to top the scales.
Adele Crowell was a double winner in both the Clark’s Harbour and Shelburne weigh-offs.
In Clark’s Harbour, Crowell took first place in the adult squash cate-gory with a 453-pound entry, and second in the adult pumpkin (540 lbs.). In Shelburne, Crowell was second in both pumpkin (545.5 lbs.) and squash (457 lbs.).
Taking third place in the Clark’s Harbour pumpkin weigh-off was Lori Goodwin (404 lbs.). In Shelburne, third place went to Frances Camp-bell (507 lbs.).
In the adult squash category in Clark’s Har-bour, second place went to Morton Smith (374 lbs.), with third going to Cory Townsend (317 lbs.).
In Shelburne, Buddy Jones had the heaviest squash (536 lbs.), with third place going to Na-than and Nevan Sears (175 lbs.).
In the Clark’s Harbour youth pump-kin category, Katie Maxwell placed first (499 lbs.), with second going to Mason Good-win (342 lbs.).
In the Clark’s Harbour youth squash competi-tion, first place went to Demiah Symonds (531 lbs.). Bethany Gore-ham was second (300 lbs.).
