To the editor:

First of all I would like to thank all the volunteers who made the Demolition Derby at this year's Hants County Exhibition such a success. It was a lot of fun for the whole family, with one exception: The obnoxious people who were too ignorant to consider those who were seated behind them. We went early enough to get a seat in the stands as we knew it would be a busy spot. We also had small children with strollers so we had to sit in the bottom rows of the stands. Several times we had to ask the people who were standing in front of the seats to crouch or kneel down so we could see the action. I'll admit that a few times I had to actually get nasty with some of the kids there as they kept standing right in front of those of us who were seated, blocking our view.

It's bad enough that you have to tell kids that it is only courteous not to stand in front of someone but my biggest beef is the two adults who were standing in front of everyone and setting the worst example of all. They were ignorant and rude to everyone who was seated behind them that couldn't see because they refused to move or kneel down. So of course the kids nearby figured that if the "big" people were allowed to do it then so could they.

The announcer of the events at the demo derby had announced several times for the people who were in front of the stands to sit or kneel or move out of the way for those who were seated but these two adults and several kids just didn't move. You know who you are and I'm not the only one who was upset as there were about 20 of us who were trying to see around you. However, we wouldn't stand up in our seats to see. To do so would have blocked the view of those behind us and that would have been RUDE & IGNORANT just like you were.
