Flu shots for Hants County

Hants’ H1N1 vaccination clinics may not go ahead as scheduled, but one question is answered. Nov. 5, Capital Health confirmed a H1N1 vaccination clinic will be held

November 9 at Windsor Elementary School from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Due to the national vaccination shortage, supplies are monitored on an hourly basis and targeted to higher risk groups, Capital Health spokesperson John Gillis says.

Those at the greatest risk include pregnant women, healthcare workers, children six months to five years, members of First Nations Communities, children 19 and under with chronic health conditions and women who have just given birth (and spouses.)

For those 19 and under with chronic health conditions, Capital Health is asking people to come on an honour system, Gillis says.

“When more vaccines are sent more clinics will open and additional people will be able to receive it, “ he adds. Gillis could not confirm whether the previously scheduled November 16 clinic at the same location would take place
