Hospitals limit visitors to slow spread of flu
With increased numbers of people exhibiting flu-like symptoms, South West Health is asking the public to limit the number of visitors to hospitals to just two per patient.

“It is especially important to limit visitors to our maternal child unit at the Yarmouth Hospital, where babies and new mothers are a high-risk group for catching H1N1 flu,” says spokesperson Fraser Mooney.

People who are sick are asked to not visit the hospital, and are advised to re-schedule any non-urgent appointments until feeling better.

People who visit the emergency department because of illness are requested to avoid other areas of the hospital.

Staff or security personnel may ask people to leave if they are sick, wearing a mask, or there are more than two visitors per patient.
