South Shore Leadership prayer breakfast at White Point

On Wednesday October 28th, The Honourable Mayann E. Francis, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, will join with South Shore community leaders and residents, to be the Guest Speaker at the inaugural South Shore Leadership Prayer Breakfast at White Point Beach Resort.

The South Shore Leadership Prayer Breakfast, a first for the South Shore, has been initiated to "create an opportunity for people to gather as a Christians to pray for their communities, leaders, businesses, schools, region, province and nation regardless of religious and political preferences" say Pat Nickerson who was delighted to be asked to participate in the event.

Prayer Breakfast organizers have been delighted with the response to the event. Joining the Lieutenant Governor is Master of Ceremonies, John Wiles, along with community leaders from Lunenburg, Queens and Shelburne Counties including Lee Nauss, Ed Cyples and Pat Nickerson, have all confirmed their participation in the prayer and in the scripture-reading program. Father Brian Murphy will lead the Leadership Prayer while Tumbleweed will round out the event with their musical styling’s.

Leadership Prayer Breakfasts, dating back some 2000 years ago, continue to be an annual tradition in many communities across Nova Scotia and Canada. "The realization of this event has been due to the efforts of several local community members in partnership with the entire South Shore" says Doug Fawthrop, Chair of the organizing committee, "we are delighted to bring this experience to our region."
