Grand opening in Bear River East, June 27-28
Annapolis Highland Vineyards, Nova Scotia’s newest licensed winery, invites the public to enjoy tastes and tours during their two-day Grand Opening weekend, June 27-28.

Grand Opening activities will include vineyard and winery tours. The gift store will feature a tasting bar where visitors can sample the four 2009 vintages: Pinot Gris, DeChaunac, Geisenheim Riesling, and an Annapolis Highlands specialty Highland Blue which blends wild blueberries with a hint of Cabernet Franc. Later this season, a Highland Blue Dolce dessert wine will be added to the roster.

Co-owner Karen Enright says additional varieties have been planted but require a few more seasons to mature. Future offerings will include New York Muscat, Castel, Gamay (used for Beaujolais Nouveau), and others.

Annapolis Highlands Vineyards is located at 2635 Clementsvale Rd, Bear River East. Regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
