RCMP responded to a total of 78 calls in the Annapolis County region during the week of December 1 to 8. Among these were one false alarm, four false 911s, seven motor vehicle accidents, and one domestic incident.

Again this week, a shocking headline tied to a traffic incident dominates the crime report. A 19-year-old girl is missing; two males survived relatively unharmed; the 30-year-old male driver was arrested for refusing a breathalyzer and faces charges of assaulting an officer and leaving the scene of an accident. Divers, searchers, and aircrew continue their search efforts, weather permitting. For a more detailed account, please turn to page 1 and keep checking www.novanewsnow.com.

Despite a lower number of calls, it was a busy week for our local officers with a number of impaired driving incidents, motor vehicle accidents, break and enters, breaches of probation or court orders.

In this festive season, RCMP would remind everyone to organize a sober drive home before partaking of the holiday cheer, and to remember to drive in accordance with road conditions.

(Note: Due to the sensitive nature of complaints involving sexual assault, domestic violence, children’s welfare, and mental health, not all calls are considered appropriate for publication.)
