The Enfield RCMP Detachment received 54 calls concerning occurrences between Nov. 22 and Nov. 27.
The highlights of the occurrences over that period include: Nov. 21 at approximately 19:30, Enfield RCMP responded to a complaint concerning a possible impaired driver in the Elmsdale area. Police intercepted the vehicle and found the male driver showed signs of impairment. The suspect subsequently refused to provide samples of his breath, and is scheduled to appear in court on the matter in January.
At approximately 01:30 hours Nov. 22, while on patrol in the Kennetcook area, detachment members encountered a vehicle that had been weaving all over the road.
They found the male driver was showing severe signs of impairment. The suspect refused to supply a breath sample for the breathalyzer and is scheduled to appear in court in January, to answer to the charges.
Nov. 27, at approximately 17:40, Enfield RCMP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. This collision occurred in front of the Royal Bank in Elmsdale on Highway 214. The pedestrian was a young male who was transported to the IWK where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Several witnesses remained at the scene to provide statements. The investigation revealed that the youth ran out in front of the vehicle, without looking, therefore no charges are pending.
During the week between Sunday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, Windsor District RCMP were kept busy in response to 115 calls.
Among these calls, five were complaints in regarding alleged dangerous driving. There were 28 calls of traffic collisions, one involving a deer; three complaints regarding
mischief involving damage costing less than $5,000 to property; three reported thefts of property valued at less than $5,000 calls; complaints of impaired driving; 23 calls for assistance; one report of an uttering of threats
threats; one complaint under the Protection of Property (Trespass) Act; one report under the Excise/Tobacco Act;
one call regarding a breach of the peace; two reported assaults; one complaint regarding a sexual assault; and one call under the Mental Health Act.
In addition, members attended 11 false 911 calls and in most instances found they were made by citizens trying to call directory assistance. There were also 15 false calls regarding residences and businesses.
West Hants County RCMP continue their investigations into a number of specific complaints, and anyone with information on the person or persons responsible are asked to contact Windsor RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
A person or persons unknown entered a garage on Highway 215, Cheverie, sometime during the evening hours of Nov. 15 and the early morning hours of Nov. 16, and made off with three bass fishing rods, one of which was custom made with Toronto Maple Leafs markings; a 50-pound roll of copper/brass flashing; freezer items including deer meat; a whipper-snipper; an older model 0.32-calibre rifle; and an ATV battery and fuel.
Sometime between Nov. 16 and Nov. 19, 2008, a person or persons unknown entered an unlocked barn in Scotch Village and made off with approximately 100 bales of hay.
As well, sometime during late afternoon Nov. 16 and the early morning hours of Nov. 17, 2008, a person or persons unknown stole a yellow Polaris 500 4-wheeler ATV from outside a residence on Pioneer Drive, Vaughn.

Among these calls, two were in response to thefts of property valued at less than $5,000; and one call regarded a report of disturbing the peace. Other reported incidents ranged from suspicious persons, one complaint of uttering threats, two concerning mischief involving damage costing less than $5,000 to property, one moving traffic complaint, one under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, three complaints of impaired driving, one under the Protection of Property (Trespass) Act, four reported collisions, one concerning a false 911 call, and eight false alarm calls.
