WIGGLESWORTH, (LAVERS) Joanne - January 4, 1947 - November 9, 2008. Joanne passed away suddenly at the age of 61. She is survived by her former husband John Lavers (Port Mouton, N.S.) the father of her two sons, Matthew and wife Dionne Lavers (Lethbridge, AB) and Sean Lavers (Calgary, AB); three grandsons: Karson and Brodie Lavers (Lethbridge), and Lachlan Gordon Lavers (Calgary); and sister Jane Snailham (Halifax, N.S.). Joanne was predeceased by her parents Armand Wigglesworth and Mildred Wigglesworth and her in-laws Everett Lavers and Viola Lavers. Joanne also leaves behind a very special Black Lab “Grand dog”, Cole Lavers. Joanne was born and raised in Liverpool, Nova Scotia where she attended Liverpool Regional High School. She married her first and only love John Lavers. They shared two sons Sean and Matthew, who kept her quite busy while they grew up in Summerville over looking the beach and the Train tracks. In the 1980's, the family moved to Calgary, AB where Joanne worked for many years with MuCana Investments/Clarica and finally RBC. During that time, every summer the family endured countless family trips across Canada in the "Van" back home to the South Shore to visit family and friends. A few years ago she decided to make a “positive” lifestyle change. She moved out West and settled on the island in Ladysmith, B.C., where she was very happy. As a survivor of breast cancer, volunteering, the Cancer Society in Ladysmith was very rewarding for her. Joanne loved the fresh mountain air, the ability to once again garden and being close to the ocean. All reminded her of living in Nova Scotia, which was a very special place for her. We look forward to bringing “Mom” home to let her rest in the only true place she belongs, the South Shore of Nova Scotia in Queens County. Joanne was a devoted Wife/Mother, Grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have met her.
