Waterville firefighters handled a triple play early Nov. 17, responding first in mutual aid to a 3:30 a.m. Aylesford house fire.
“We just left after a breakfast by the auxiliary at their hall about 8:30 a.m., WDFD spokesman Kevin Ernest said, “when we came upon a three-vehicle crash on Highway 101, just east of the Cambridge Road overpass.”
Ernest said, according to one of the drivers, all three vehicles had been travelling in the same direction and were “forced off the road.” There were no further details, but two people were transported to Valley Regional Hospital by ambulance. A third was checked and released at the scene.
As Waterville left that scene and headed for the Coldbrook exit to return to their station, their safety officer came across another two-vehicle crash just west of the overpass, as the on-ramp merges with the highway.
Kings RCMP report that call at 9:17 a.m. With the fire service on scene, EHS was also dispatched. No one was transported from that scene.
