Keddy appointed Parliamentary Secretary to International Trade minister
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has appointed South Shore-St. Margaret’s MP Gerald Keddy as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade.
In the same announcement, another Nova Scotia representative, West Nova MP Greg Kerr was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs.

In a press release, Harper said, "In a time of global economic instability, it is essential that the government's legislative responsibilities are managed consistently and competently. The two Nova Scotia Members of Parliament we are appointing to serve as Parliamentary Secretaries will provide a stronger voice for their province in Ottawa, while also providing a stronger, more focused government for all Canadians."
