Wild outshot at home

Wild outshot at home
Wins have been hard to come by at home as the South Shore Wild struggle to dominate in their second Junior C Hockey season.
On Nov. 1, Halifax Thunder left Liverpool with an 8-2 win. Murray Daye, in goal for the Wild kept Halifax at bay as long as possible until into the second frame.

At the end of two it was 3-1 Halifax after Nick Handspiker scored one of two goals. The game ended with Halifax outshooting us 58-20. Wild was outhustled and out-muscled by a stronger team, but had we scored on the chances we had, the game would have turned around early.

On Nov. 4, Barrington showed up and we controlled the game in the first five minutes of periods 1 and 2 and most of the third, but in between, the Ice Dogs filled the net nine times. It was not a point of not getting shots, just not scoring. Again the basic rules of competitive contact hockey were not followed and Barrington forced us to play their style.

The next home game is Saturday, Nov. 15 against Avon River Rats at 8:15 p.m.

There will be an Exhibition game against RCMP Bisons Provincial Team on Nov. 29 at 8:15 p.m. This will be a charity game for the Wickwire School Library.

More details to follow.
