Meeting

Nov. 5

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 in the Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School library for all interested parents, staff and students of the high school regarding the development of a breakfast program at the school.

Concert

Nov. 6-7-8

Nashville recording artist Crystal Taylor will be appearing with her husband Herb on Nov. 6, 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church 5 Bond St. She will also be performing Sunday morning at Temple Baptist Church and Greenville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Concerts are free but an offering will be received. Remembrance service

Nov. 7

There will be a remembrance service at the Maple Grove Educational Centre on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. Special tribute to the war dead, soldiers who have died in Afghanistan and honouring veterans and seniors. Refreshments to follow. Info: 902-740-2070.

ELF program

The ELF (Everbody Loves Friday) program for children ages 4-12 will take place at the Brazil Lake Wesleyan Church Nov. 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Snacks, games, crafts. To register call 902-742-1613.

There will be a rappie pie and seafood chowder sale at the Twin Village Social Club in Amirault’s Hill Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4-7 p.m. Proceeds for the club. Info: 902-648-2900.

There will be a salad tea and sale at Holy Trinity parish hall, 61 William St., on Thursday, Nov. 13, Doors open at 2 p.m., tea from 3-5. Adults $4, children under 10, $2. Christmas puddings will also be for sale.

Dance/auction

There will be a fundraiser dance/auction at the Red Knight Nov. 14. Buffet supper from 6-9 p.m. In support of the Prostate Cancer Support Group.

Christmas tea

Nov. 15

The Ohio Christmas tea will be held at the South Ohio Community Centre on the Lake George Road on Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Adults $5; children under 12 $2. Bake sale, books, crafts, etc. Anyone wishing to donate or help can call Nancy Dubinskas at 902-749-1861.

Annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Yarmouth branch of the Canadian Bible Society will be held Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Austrian Inn in Dayton. Karaoke night

There will be a karaoke night and open mic at Club Lestantue Community Centre, Pinkney’s Point, Saturday, Nov. 15. Doors open at 8. Event runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Donations at the door.

Fishermen’s service

A community fishermen’s service will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Port Maitland Wesleyan Church featuring a men’s choir. Refreshments to follow.

The Firefighters Museum of Nova Scotia, 451 Main St., has an exhibit about the Corps of Canadian Firefighters who volunteered to aid Britain’s fire service during the Second World war. The exhibit opened Nov. 1 and runs until Dec. 19. Museum hours are Monday to Friday, 9-4 and Saturday 1-4.

Bridge

The Baby and Me peer support group meets Tuesday mornings, 10 - 11:30, at Yarmouth Superstore’s community room. All infants with their parents and/or grandparents, as well as pregnant women, are welcome. Peer breastfeeding support is also available. Further info: 902-742-7141.
