School board recount narrows gap to four votes but does not change election night result
Anne Moses maintains the seat
A recount of the election night results for the school board seat in District 8 in the Municipality of Yarmouth hasn’t changed the result, but it did narrow the gap.

On election night incumbent Anne Moses held onto the seat by a margin of seven votes over challenger Dolores Atwood. The final vote tally on election night for Moses was 784, compared to 777 for Atwood.

Following an Oct. 31 recount, which was requested by Atwood, Moses held onto the seat with just four more votes than Atwood.

During the municipal election four years earlier, Atwood had also challenged Moses for the school board seat. In 2004 Moses won the seat by 138 votes.

The Tri-County Regional School Board is being sworn in Tuesday night. Following last month’s election there is only one change around the board table. Andrea Huskilson-Newell defeated incumbent Robie Atkinson in Barrington-area race.

The chair and vice-chair of the board will also be selected at the Nov. 4 annual general meeting of the board.
