Fair Trade around the world
Fair Trade around the world
For the first time, Ten Thousand Villages held a fair trade gift sale at the Kentville fire hall Oct. 24-25. Jackie and Liz Palmer of Kentville were among those browsing, taking a moment to admire the many woodcarvings from around the globe. Ten Thousand Villages is a non-profit organization that provides vital, fair income to artisans around the world. The organization is holding 32 sales throughout Atlantic Canada from September to December. Volunteers facilitate the sales to eliminate overhead costs and ensure proceeds go back to the various artisans. For more information, visit www.TenThousandVillages.ca.
