In recital
Susan Dworkin and her daughter, Josee MacInnis, will perform in recital Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Acadia Art Gallery, Wolfville.
Music for voice, piano and clarinet will be diverse. A freewill offering will go to support the Acadia University Art Gallery.
Spooky night out
It’s "Fear Fest 3," the Halloween Bash, featuring the Rob Hill Sideshow (all the way from Ohio), Halloween night, Friday, Oct. 31 at Boston Pizza, New Minas, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.; with music by A Call for Submission and Subspecies.
The Rob Hill Sideshow is one of North America's best human stunt shows. Along with breathing fire 20 feet in the air and chewing light bulbs, Rob Hill has many other spooky Halloween tricks up his sleeve to freak everyone out. He feels no pain and always puts on a killer show. There will also be two bands, lots of prizes - including $500 in tattoo prizes.
Also featuring “scary-oke.” and drink specials and the best costumes in the Valley this year.

"Ghouls Gone Wild 2" Halloween bash
Featuring the Maritimes' ultimate KISS tribute "Dressed 2 Kill" November 1 at the Greenwood Doolys, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with a live DJ spinning spooky songs from the past and present. Lots of prizes and scary folks abound!
Admission is $5 at the door.
Divas & Desserts
November 1, the Acadia School of Music presents a cabaret evening filled with favourite songs, coffee, tea and delicious delicacies.
Featuring the voices of the Acadia School of Music, Divas & Desserts tickerts are $15 (adults), $10 (students) or table of four - $50.
To reserve seating, call 585-1512. The music gets underway at 8 p.m. at the MacKeen Room of Students’ Union Building, Wolfville.
All ages are welcome. Silent auction to take place at intermission.
Bluegrass show
The Annapolis Valley Bluegrass & Oldtime Music Association hosts its first indoor show of the winter season November 2 at the Berwick Lions Hall, 2 p.m.
Entertainment features Grassworks, the Beeler family; Plus-Four and String Fever.

At the Whittle
There will be no Fundy Film Nov. 2.
Instead, Mulgrave Road Theatre presents Confession at 8 p.m., at the Al Whittle Theatre, 450 Main Street, Wolfville. Tickets are $20 at Just Us Café.
Then, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., Fundy Film will screen Man on Wire. Tightrope artist Phillip Petits walked the fine line of fear and felony when he illegally attempted crossing a tight-wire 1,350 feet in the air between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

NSYO coming
The Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra (NSYO), under the direction of music director Dinuk Wijeratne, will present a concert in Wolfville, with special guest artist David Parker on horn, Nov. 8 at 7 pm. in Wolfville Baptist Church.
A Wolfville native, Parker has been principal hornist of Symphony Nova Scotia since 2000. He currently teaches horn and brass chamber music at Dalhousie University.
Tickets range from $10 to $15 at the door.
