September 14 to September 20, 2008 continued Helen Louise (Hewey) Trimper, 73, of Greenland, Annapolis County, passed into the embrace of her Lord on Sept. 19, 2008. Born in Victory, she was the daughter of Andum and Mildred (Kaulback) Hewey. Married nearly 56 years, she delighted in her home, her family, her music—writing songs, playing and singing at home, at church and in community settings. She played the guitar, piano, organ and autoharp. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion to her husband, her children, and her grandchildren, with whom she spent many happy days. Helen lived a life of consistent faith and Christian testimony, and was a faithful member of Bear River Baptist Church. She is survived and sadly missed by her husband, Dennis; son, Roger and his wife Janice; daughter, Cathy Peck and her husband Randy; son Randy; grandsons Jonathan, Jeremy, William, Kyle; brothers Albert (Gloria), Cecil (Vileata), Franklin (June), all of Greenland; Wilfred (Annette), Hamilton, Ont.; sister Phyllis (Guy) Comeau, Greenland; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father and mother and a brother, Avard. Visitation was at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service was Sept. 22 in Bear River United Baptist Church, with Rev. Donald Scheels officiating, and interment was in Clementsvale Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the VON, the Palliative Care Unit of the Annapolis Community Health Centre, or the Gideons Memorial Bible Plan.
